Our Story
Based in our factory in Poole, Dorset, MiniHomes started as a small venture with a big vision. Over the years, we have grown into a renowned manufacturer, specialising in custom mobile homes and garden lodges that cater to a diverse range of needs and preferences. Our success is built on a foundation of innovation, dedication, and a deep understanding of our clients’ desires for both aesthetics and functionality.
Our Unique Approach
At MiniHomes, we pride ourselves on our unique construction method, which allows us to access even the most difficult-to-reach locations while maintaining superior build quality at a lower cost. Unlike traditional factory-finished homes, our timber frame panels are produced in our workshop and assembled on-site. This approach not only ensures compliance with the Caravans Act but also allows for extensive customisation of every aspect of the home, from external finishes like cladding, windows, and roof tiles to internal finishes such as flooring and kitchens.
Our homes are designed to conform to mobile home regulations, yet they boast the insulation values, wall thickness, and finishes of conventional houses, making them suitable for long-term, year-round use. At MiniHomes, quality is at the heart of everything we do. Our homes are built to last, with sturdy construction and top-of-the-line materials. We use substantial 220 mm floor timbers for superior rigidity, 12 mm internal plasterboard wall finishes, and premium flooring and carpets. Our commitment to quality ensures that your MiniHome will stand the test of time, providing a comfortable and stylish living space for years to come.
Compliance and Conformity
Navigating the laws and regulations surrounding mobile homes can be complex, but MiniHomes makes it simple. We provide a comprehensive conformity report with every home we build. This report, over 50 pages long, includes detailed information about our construction methodology and unique engineering calculations that demonstrate the mobility of the structure. With over 70 large mobile homes assembled on-site, we have become experts in ensuring our homes meet all relevant laws and regulations.
Manufacturing Process and Timescales
Building a new home is an exciting journey, and we strive to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. Our streamlined manufacturing process allows us to complete a full-size mobile home within 3-4 months, including one month for design and frame production and 8-14 weeks on-site to finish the home. The process is divided into three phases:
1.Frame: Design, manufacture, and assemble the timber frame structure.
2.External Finish: Focus on cladding, windows, roofing, soffit and fascia, and rainwater goods.
3.Internal Finish: Complete plumbing, electrical work, plastering and decorating, and carpentry.
Our build regulation structural timbers and construction methods ensure a significantly longer lifespan for our homes, making them a sound investment for year-round residential use.
